What are Ecoglo® non-slip stair nosings?
Ecoglo® non-slip stair nosings are non-photoluminescent
step-edge safety products designed to add durable traction,
protect the leading edge of the stair and provide visible
step-edge color contrast. The range includes strips, flat
nosings, cast-in-place profiles, carpet nosings, tile nosings
and resilient-flooring nosings.
What are anti-slip step edge markings?
Anti-slip step edge markings are traction products installed
along the leading portion of a stair tread to improve grip and
make the step edge more visually distinct. Ecoglo® N-Series
strips combine a hard-wearing silicon-carbide surface with a
rigid aluminum backing.
Which Ecoglo® non-slip stair nosing works on existing concrete, timber, tile or metal stairs?
Ecoglo® flat stair nosings are designed for a range of existing
stair substrates. The F4B170 is a 3.2-inch-wide clear-anodized
aluminum profile with a 2-inch black silicon-carbide non-slip
insert and can be installed over concrete, timber, tile, steel,
checker plate and suitable thin-carpeted stairs.
Which non-slip stair nosing is designed for new concrete stairs?
Ecoglo® cast-in-place stair nosings are designed to be installed
directly into wet concrete. The S2-N30 can be used on concrete
stairs, concrete-filled steel-pan stairs and precast concrete
stairs, creating a flush finished stair edge.
Which Ecoglo® non-slip stair nosing is designed for carpeted stairs?
The Ecoglo® C4-N20 is designed specifically for carpeted
stair edges. It combines an aluminum nosing profile with a
bonded silicon-carbide anti-slip insert to improve traction,
define the stair edge and protect high-wear carpeted steps.
Which Ecoglo® non-slip nosing is suitable for tiled stairs?
Ecoglo® M4.10-N30 and M4.125-N30 are designed for tiled
stair assemblies. M4.10-N30 is compatible with tile approximately
3/16" to 11/32" thick, while M4.125-N30 is designed for tile
approximately 3/8" to 1/2" thick.

Can Ecoglo® non-slip stair nosings be used outdoors?
Many Ecoglo® non-slip stair-nosing and stair-strip products
are engineered for indoor and outdoor long-term use and have
been tested for weathering, UV exposure, salt spray,
freeze-thaw resistance and washability. Always confirm the
exact model and installation method for the project.
Are Ecoglo® non-slip stair nosings photoluminescent?
No. The N-Series non-slip products described on this collection
are non-photoluminescent. They provide slip resistance and
step-edge color contrast but do not glow in darkness. For
projects requiring luminous egress path marking, select an
Ecoglo® photoluminescent stair nosing instead.

What colors are available for Ecoglo® non-slip stair edges?
Several Ecoglo® non-slip product families are offered with
black, gray or yellow non-slip inserts. Choose a color that
provides suitable contrast with the surrounding stair tread
while meeting the project's design and safety requirements.
What makes Ecoglo® non-slip stair nosings durable?
Ecoglo® uses hard-wearing non-slip material integrally bonded
to aluminum substrates. Manufacturer documentation emphasizes
abrasion resistance, heavy-traffic durability, outdoor weather
resistance and low maintenance across its non-slip product families.
