The Ecoglo® F4B151 Photoluminescent Flat Stair Nosing combines a durable 3.2-inch-wide clear-anodized aluminum profile with protected photoluminescent step-edge strips and a high-visibility yellow silicon-carbide non-slip insert. Its right-angled profile fits over the leading edge of the stair to provide luminous guidance, durable traction and physical protection for the stair edge.
Designed for public stairways, exit stairs, emergency egress routes and other applications where pathfinding in darkness is important, the F4B151 remains visible after normal lighting is reduced or lost. It can be installed over concrete, timber, tile, steel, checker plate and suitable thin-carpeted stairs.
The F4B151 is a photoluminescent stair nosing. Its luminous step-edge strips absorb energy from normal ambient lighting and remain visible after the lights go out. The yellow silicon-carbide insert provides colour contrast and non-slip traction but is not itself the photoluminescent component.
The photoluminescent step-edge strips absorb energy from natural or artificial light and remain visible when normal lighting is reduced or electrical power is lost.
The yellow non-slip insert provides strong colour contrast where it differs from the surrounding stair surface, helping users identify the leading edge of each step.
The integrally bonded silicon-carbide non-slip insert provides durable traction to help reduce slips on heavily travelled commercial and public stairways.
The passive photoluminescent system operates without batteries, wiring or ongoing electrical energy consumption.

Installation Information
Install the F4B151 using premium polyurethane adhesive with mechanical fasteners, or adhesive only, depending on the stair substrate and project requirements.
Standard holes are positioned approximately 2 inches from each end and approximately 12 inches apart.
Stainless steel fasteners and concrete nylon anchors are supplied with the pre-drilled stair nosing.
Choose unattached inserts when the aluminum profile must be cut to size on site.

Installed Durability:

- Tested to accelerated UV/weathering exposure, and proven to be highly resistant to the effects of UV/weathering.
- The loss in performance is less than can be detected by the human eye when subjected to 6000 hours of UV exposure, which is similar to 30 years of outdoor exposure.
- The polymer used in Ecoglo’s patented process is “long chain” which forms a strong UV resistant product when bonding.
