Ecoglo® C4171 Photoluminescent Carpet Stair Nosing – Black Non-Slip Insert
Improve visibility and traction at the leading edge of carpeted stairs with a durable 2.7-inch-wide photoluminescent stair-nosing system.
The Ecoglo® C4171 Photoluminescent Carpet Stair Nosing combines a durable clear-anodized aluminum profile, protected photoluminescent step-edge strips and a hard-wearing black silicon-carbide non-slip insert. The specially shaped carpet profile covers and protects the leading edge of the stair while providing reliable traction and visible guidance in normal, reduced-light and power-outage conditions.
Designed specifically for carpeted stairways, the C4171 is suitable for commercial buildings, exit stairs, public facilities, hotels, offices, educational institutions and other applications where durable step-edge visibility and slip resistance are required.
Model C4171 has a clear-anodized aluminum profile with a black non-slip insert. The adjacent protected strips are the photoluminescent components. The black insert provides traction and visual contrast but does not glow. For the black-anodized profile with a black insert, select model C4271.
Protected luminous strips absorb energy from available natural or artificial light and remain visible when normal lighting is reduced or lost.
The specialized aluminum profile is shaped to cover the leading edge of a carpeted stair while creating a durable and clearly defined walking surface.
The black silicon-carbide non-slip material is integrally bonded to the aluminum substrate for durable traction in heavily travelled commercial and public stairways.
The passive photoluminescent system requires no batteries, electrical wiring or ongoing energy consumption.

Installation Information
Install the Ecoglo® C4171 using premium polyurethane adhesive and mechanical fasteners. Confirm that the stair edge is properly prepared and suitable for the selected attachment method before installation.
Standard holes are located approximately 2 inches from each end and approximately 12 inches apart.
Pre-drilled profiles are supplied with stainless steel fasteners and concrete nylon anchors.
Select unattached inserts when the aluminum profile must be cut to length at the installation site.
