Improve visibility and traction at the leading edge of carpeted stairs with a durable 2.7-inch-wide photoluminescent stair-nosing system.
The Ecoglo® C4151 Photoluminescent Carpet Stair Nosing combines a durable clear-anodized aluminum profile, protected photoluminescent step-edge strips and a hard-wearing yellow silicon-carbide non-slip insert. The specialized carpet profile covers and protects the leading edge of the stair while providing reliable traction and highly visible step-edge definition during normal lighting, reduced-light conditions and power outages.
Designed specifically for carpeted stairways, the C4151 is suitable for commercial buildings, exit stairs, offices, hotels, public facilities, educational institutions and other applications where durable step-edge visibility and slip resistance are required.
Model C4151 has a clear-anodized aluminum profile with a yellow non-slip insert. The adjacent protected strips are the photoluminescent components. The yellow insert provides high-visibility color contrast and non-slip traction but does not itself glow. For the black-anodized profile with a yellow insert, select model C4251.
Protected luminous strips absorb energy from available natural or artificial light and remain visible when normal lighting is reduced or lost.
The specialized aluminum profile is shaped to cover the leading edge of a carpeted stair while creating a durable and clearly defined walking surface.
The yellow silicon-carbide insert creates prominent step-edge contrast where it differs from the surrounding carpet and stair finish.

Installation Information
Install the Ecoglo® C4151 using premium polyurethane adhesive and mechanical fasteners. Confirm that the stair edge and carpet assembly are properly prepared and suitable for the selected attachment method before installation.
Standard holes are located approximately 2 inches from each end and approximately 12 inches apart.
Pre-drilled profiles are supplied with stainless steel fasteners and concrete nylon anchors.
Select unattached inserts when the aluminum profile must be cut to length at the installation site.

- The loss in performance is less than can be detected by the human eye when subjected to 6000 hours of UV exposure, which is similar to 30 years of outdoor exposure.
- The polymer used in Ecoglo’s patented process is “long chain” which forms a strong UV resistant product when bonding.
